During two keynote addresses in CNY during 2016, Tim Keenan clearly articulated the motivation for creating two Keenan Centers, “Kathleen and I attended college in two of the hardest-hit areas of the country: Central Ohio and Central New York. We believe that increased entrepreneurial activity will return these regions to economic growth, lifting communities out of poverty.” It is in that spirit that the vision for the Keenan Center is to have a sustainable impact on the CNY economy. Furthermore, we find ourselves in the unique position to reshape how higher education can impact entrepreneurship and innovation. Following two decades of building a successful entrepreneurship program at Syracuse University, we are looked upon as thought leaders, and our vision for the future is applied through that filter every day.
The Keenan Center’s core values are influenced by the Le Moyne College community and the Jesuit spirit of inquiry
